Achieving best value for money
Procurement in schools can cover a very wide range of activities from buying stationery to agreeing a new build. The sums of money involved can differ, however, the fundamental principle should always be the same "achieving best value for money". Schools should be familiar with the Contract Procedure Rules (CPRs) at all times which are reviewed bi-annually. CPRs provide reassurance that the council is efficient, transparent and accountable when considering procurement and contract opportunities.
