Introduction to Dorset County Council Emergency Planning
The Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and the School's Financial Value Standard (SFVS) have raised the profile of, and need for, emergency planning and business continuity management. Dorset County Council’s Emergency Planning Service will help and support you fulfil your requirements under the SFVS.
The Emergency Planning Team will guide your school through the process of building a 'Schools Resilience Plan' by identifying risks, planning how to respond to them and validating the plan via a bespoke 'table top' exercise with staff.
Business Continuity planning is also available to help minimise the disruption to your school's service delivery during an incident.
An additional benefit of the package is 24/7 access to the duty emergency planning service, who will be able to provide you with advise, guidance and resources in a real life incident or emergency involving your school.
