Be part of Dorset County Council's energy supply contracts...
For many years Dorset schools have had access to our energy procurement and contract management service, ensuring a consistent, uninterrupted and best value supply of energy to all buildings. By having a central energy contract we are able to ensure more favourable rates for our energy supplies.
Virtually ALL schools (including academies) in Dorset are currently signed up to the Dorset County Council (DCC) energy contracts. For those schools that signed up to the 2 year option in 2015, these are due to end on 30th September 2018. For these schools action is NOW required in order to remain on DCC energy contracts. For all other schools currently on the 4 year option, no action is currently necessary.
The Department for Education recommends that schools utilise Public Buying Organisations to forward purchase their energy. Being part of our energy supply contracts complies with this recommendation. (Dorset County Council has selected the Public Buying Organisation, LASER, a service operated by Kent County Council.)
As part of our Energy Procurement and Contract Management Service, schools (including academies) will receive a suite of enhanced services, detailed below.
