Training designed and led by children and young people in care

Description

By the end of the day, participants will:

Have put themselves in a looked after child’s shoes for the day
Have understood the problems and barriers children and young people in care, face.
Know how to work with children and young people in care.
Get some useful tips, hints and tools to manage children and young people’s expectations.

Outcomes

Participants will know:

What it is like to be a child in care growing up in Dorset.
How to form positive relationships with children and young people in care.
How to work with moody teenagers and how to help them.

Refreshments: Tea, Coffee will be made available, please bring your own lunch. Parking is available free of charge on site.

Audience

Professionals who work with children and young people in care, including managers.

Foster carers – new and experienced.
