LSCB Level 3 Safeguarding Children Update (1 Day)

Outline

This update training is relevant to anyone who has already completed the LSCB Level 3 Initial course (previously referred to as LSCB Level 3 Safeguarding Course - 2 Day) and wishes to build on this training and refresh learning.

Please note - Update training should be attended every 2 years for schools staff and every 3 years for early years staff.

Description

The main aims are:

  • to enhance knowledge and skills and the ability to work together on the processes for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in complex and challenging situations
  • to provide an opportunity for people to learn together and to explore professional dilemmas

A representative from the Safe Schools and Communities Team is also a contributor to this course.

Outcomes

The main outcomes are:

  • State changes in law, policy and procedures relevant to safeguarding children
  • Define thresholds and mechanisms for referral and intervention
  • Describe the key messages from recent local serious case reviews
  • Identify effective practices for multi-agency working
  • Define good practice in information sharing

Please do not attend unless you have received this confirmation. Your course certificate will be sent to you via email once you have completed the evaluation form.
