This course will allow governors to discuss and reflect on essential information regarding effective use of Pupil Premium funding.

Outline

Governors Guide to Pupil Premium.

Description

This course will allow governors to discuss and reflect on essential information regarding effective use of Pupil Premium funding and their possible role in relation to its implementation and evaluation. The course will cover

  • Tracking progress and the role of the school leadership team: Using data and RAISE online to analyse school trends and inform planning to close the gap between FSM and non-FSM pupils. How are key information and actions shared and led throughout the school?
  • What does effective support and intervention look like? Using evidence (eg Sutton Trust) about what works for schools in deciding how funding should be spent.
  • Monitoring, evaluating and reporting impact: How is evidence of expenditure and impact on pupil progress collected and analysed? What are the challenging questions for governors to ask linked to whole school improvement? How are outcomes shared with parents?

Examples of good practice from local primary and secondary schools will also be shared.
