Learn to Move aims to enable staff in mainstream primary schools to support and provide tailored interventions for children with motor skill difficulties. This engaging and practical day will be delivered by highly experienced Paediatric Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists from both Dorset & Poole Children's Therapy Services. The revised ‘Learn to Move’ handbook will be provided to delegates upon attendance.
NB: This course is not intended for staff working in special schools.
Ø To understand what Learn to Move is and how to use it.
Ø To understand what motor skills are, how they develop, and how they can impact on learning.
Ø To identify children who require additional help to achieve their age-related expectations.
Ø To understand common reasons why children may have difficulties with their motor skills.
Ø To learn practical skills and develop activity ideas to help children improve their motor skills.
Please wear sensible clothing and bring an exercise mat to enable you to participate comfortably in the practical activities.
Please note lunch is not provided, however lunch can be purchased at the venue.
