The Strengthening Families Programme for families with children aged 6-10 starts in Bovington on Saturday 9th November. Sessions run 12-2 at the Royal British Legion Club, King George V Road, Bovington BH20 6JQ. They are free to attend and include lunch.
Families tell us that this programme really helps build relationships with their children and give them tips for a more relaxed home environment.
Attached is a flyer, a briefing letter for parents, a session guide and an application form. Or just ring or email the Dorset Youth Association to book your space. Families are welcome to book direct with us.
This programme is funded by the Royal British Legion and free places are available to all families with 6-10 year old. Priority will be given to those who are RBL beneficiaries (Beneficiaries of the RBL include those who have anyone in their family who has been in any of the services or who is currently serving, including parents or grandparents or other relatives.)
The sessions give parents and their children a safe, supported space to build their relationship by learning skills and coping techniques for difficult situations. They provide help to recognise good choices and healthy ways of managing those more difficult and challenging times together.
Parents can refer themselves onto the programme by contacting DYA or by speaking to the school practitioners they are already working with.
To join in with your child and make sure you don’t miss out on your FREE place, download or ring or email for a booking form and take that first step to making yours a STRONGER FAMILY.
It may be possible to assist with childcare or transport costs. Specific requirements will be looked at on a case by case basis.
More information is on the Dorset Youth Association website including Programme Training Dates.
