This one day course will provide participants with an Introduction to Autistic Spectrum Disorders in children and young people and equip them with knowledge and skills to help children fulfil their potential.
By the end of the training participants will:
Understand what Autism is and why it is a spectrum condition.Explore the main difficulties associated with the “Triad of Impairment” and how these may manifest in the behaviour of children.Explore the communicative intent of some of the behaviours that may be exhibited by autistic children.Understand the process of sensory integration including the difference between hyper and hypo sensitivity.
