Ashden LESS CO2 – FREE energy efficiency programme for schools
Schools in Dorset are being given the opportunity to participate in a nationally-recognised energy efficiency scheme. Ashden LESS CO2 is run by sustainable energy not-for-profit Ashden. It is free for schools to join and can lead to significant financial savings on energy costs.
If you sign up to the scheme, a representative from your school will attend four local workshops over the course of a year. The workshops will cover energy saving in your school building, how to engage with staff and students about energy, and how to make the link between sustainability and energy use and efficiency in teaching and learning.
For LESS CO2 to start in Dorset, they need 10 to 15 local schools to take part. The next LESS CO2 intake is due to start in September 2018, and we really hope to form a cluster from schools in Dorset to start in September. Eight schools in Purbeck and Dorchester have already signed up, so your school’s participation could make all the difference.
This programme has been highly recommended by other Local Authorities and school staff. Dorset County Council supports this scheme and if you choose to take part, will assist you by providing user-friendly data regarding your school’s energy use (where possible), along with other practical resources.
For further information about LESS CO2, how it works, and how to get the most out of the programme, please download the leaflet (see Downloads) or contact Suzy Van den Eynde at Ashden on 0207 410 7059.
